Join the HJF Team!

The Henry M. Jackson Foundation for the Advancement of Military Medicine (HJF) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to advancing military medicine. We serve military, medical, academic and government clients by administering, managing and supporting preeminent scientific programs that benefit members of the armed forces and civilians alike. Since its founding in 1983, HJF has served as a vital link between the military medical community and its federal and private partners. HJF's support and administrative capabilities allow military medical researchers and clinicians to maintain their scientific focus and accomplish their research goals.

HJF is seeking a Postdoctoral Fellow - Bioinformatics to perform bioinformatics and data science research. This position is in the Data Science Division in the Center for Military Precision Health at the Uniformed Services University, under the direction of Dr. Matthew Wilkerson (see https://www.usuhs.edu/node/122544 ).

The Postdoctoral Fellow will conduct applied bioinformatics research on cancer genomics and/or on characterization of models of human disease, depending on research interests, and develop manuscripts. The Postdoctoral Fellow will also perform research in team science collaborations, such as in the Applied Proteogenomics and Organizational Learning and Outcomes (APOLLO) program, which provide opportunities for skillset and career growth (see https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/36384096/ and https://proteomics.cancer.gov/news_and_announcements/apollo-researchers-uncover-novel-proteogenomic-features-lung-cancer). Particular areas of focus may include lung cancer, spatial transcriptomics, and/or multi-omics data analysis techniques. This is an exciting opportunity to gain experience in disease-focused research using new and large cohorts that are sequenced at the University’s American Genome Center.

Note: This site requires that the incumbent has lived in the US for three out of the past five years.
