The role

The ideal candidate will join the Accounting and Controlling departments and will be responsible for the tax guidance, reporting, monitoring and compliance of the company and its subsidiaries. She/ he will report directly to the Head of Tax Planning and the Group Controller.

The position will be based at our headquarters in Athens.

Responsibilities

  • Lead external tax and accounting consultants and ensure compliance with tax and statutory requirements
  • Review appropriate submissions of the Corporate Income Tax Returns of the Group and all tax filings
  • Review proper accounting treatment and liaise with regional accountants/ controllers
  • Preparation of Transfer Pricing review file
  • Reporting of tax related information to Management and other key stakeholders
  • Handling of International Double Taxation issues
  • Monitoring of pending legal cases relating to tax matters
  • Preparation and support in Tax & Financial audits
  • Support the business with ad hoc special projects
  • Provide tax advice and review of contracts from tax perspective

Requirements

  • 5 years of work experience in relevant position or tax related area, preferably within a multinational organization; international experience strongly preferred.
  • Strong academic background from top-tier school either in accounting or tax at post-graduate level; ACA/ ACCA qualification strongly appreciated.
  • Strong knowledge of local tax legislation including the respective provisions for Transfer pricing
  • Keeping up to date with developments in tax legislation
  • International perspective and culture; adaptable to change.
  • Knowledge of accounting systems (SAP) will be considered as an asset
  • Ability to manage complex data requests, fast learner with strong problem-solving skills.
  • Fluency in English, both oral and written (additional language is a plus).
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
  • Attention to detail and high accuracy are critical.
  • Able to perform under pressure and deliver results in a demanding and fast-paced environment that requires fresh thinking, proactiveness and time dedication.
