This role reports directly to the Director of Quality

Primary Responsibilities

  • Provide expertise to the team by efficiently and productively:
  • Writing and identifying test cases
  • Setting up of test environments
  • Designing test plans
  • Developing test cases/scenarios based on usage cases
  • Executing manual and automated tests
  • Assisting in the design and implementation of automated test frameworks
  • Performing helpful code reviews
  • Identifying opportunities for automated testing at different levels (unit, integration, UI, etc)
  • Work within assigned team to complete duties as assigned, while mentoring and reviewing more junior engineers
  • Be part of an on-call rotation with other team members to provide escalated emergency support
  • Communicate frequently, clearly, and effectively with various technical and management audiences on usability and serviceability and suggested changes
  • Help improve the scalability, performance, and efficiency of the testing pipeline
  • Build solutions to aid in automated and load testing

Knowledge & Skills

  • 4+ years working as a software engineer or test engineer
  • 2+ years working as a automated test engineer desired
  • Proficient in an object oriented language such as C# or Java
  • Experienced in MSSQL, HTML, CSS, AngularJS, React
  • Understanding of source control systems and CI/CD Pipelines
  • Understanding of automated testing frameworks such as Selenium WebDriver
  • Prefered: Experience testing REST Web Services
  • Prefered: Experience with Postman, Fiddler or similar tools
  • Prefered: Experience with Test Management tools such X-Ray, HPQC
  • Prefered: Experience with OWASP and security principals
  • Prefered: Experience with load testing tools and techniques
  • Knowledge of QA Testing Techniques

Education

  • B.S. in computer science, information systems, a related field; comparable certifications; or equivalent direct work experience
