Job Overview:
We are seeking a software engineering intern who is passionate about esports and has a strong background in software development with a focus in data science. The ideal candidate will have experience in developing data pipelines, software tools, and applications that leverage large-scale data sets to drive insights and decision-making.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with the team to develop a comprehensive understanding of the competitive gaming landscape and develop strategies for success.
- Design, develop and maintain data pipelines and software tools to automate data collection, cleaning, and transformation.
- Develop and implement scalable algorithms to support team decision-making processes.
- Optimize the performance and scalability of existing data pipelines and applications.
- Assist in productionizing scripts developed by data scientists and analysts.
Requirements:
- Must be enrolled in a Bachelor's or Master's degree program in computer science, data science, applied statistics, or a related field. Graduates from May 2022 and later will also be considered.
- Proficient in Python and comfortable working with SQL.
- Knowledge of machine learning and statistical modeling techniques.
- Familiarity with databases and data management systems, such as Postgres.
- Experience in software development using software engineering best practices (git).
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
- Passionate about esports and a desire to learn more about competitive gaming.
Nice-to-Haves:
- Experience working with cloud computing platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
- Knowledge of data governance and data quality best practices.
- Familiarity with agile development methodologies and project management tools, such as JIRA or Trello.
- Experience working with APIs or web scraping tools to collect data from external sources.
