We’re one of the world’s largest content recommendation platforms, delighting audiences with engaging, personalized content recommendations while serving as the primary engagement partner and platform for the world’s top digital media companies. 

Outbrain’s recommendation system is powered by a hybrid large-scale infrastructure, based on bare-metal infrastructure managed in our own Data Centers along with Public clouds infrastructure (AWS, GCP & Azure).

Outbrain servers fleet consists of over 8000 physical servers, and produces over 300 Billion personalized recommendations on a monthly basis, reaching over 800M unique users every month.

We are looking for..

An experienced, passionate team player to join our Cloud Infra team. You will be part of a talented group of professionals responsible for our core infrastructure, providing scalable solutions from concept and design to implementation.

A day in the life

• Manage, plan and configure the data center networking stack including all routing switches, FWs and load balancers, using code and automation pipelines.
• Provide self-serve tools for configuration management, CI automation and Infrastructure as a Code for both our private clouds and public cloud environments.
• Maintain core network services such as: Consul, DNS, LDAP, DHCP, CDN providers.
• Build and maintain server-side APIs using, among other things, Python.
• Manage the base Linux OS configuration over 8000 servers and multiple types of systems and services.

What you’ll bring

• Proven understanding of the network stack, TCP/IP, routing protocols, IPSEC VPN, L4 & L7 load balancing, etc.
• Solid understanding of common Internet protocols such as: HTTP, DNS, SSL.
• At least 4 years of proven experience in production environment as an SRE/Production/Devops engineer with strong troubleshooting skills.
• At least 3 years of experience with Linux based OS and Bash scripting.
• Experience in automating deployments using configuration and deployment management tools such as Chef, Jenkins, Docker, Terraform or others.
• Experience in writing code in one of the following: Python, Ruby.
• Experience using version control tools such as Git - Advantage. 
• Interest in the interaction between systems, bottlenecks and scale.
• Experience with docker and Kubernetes and delivery systems - Advantage. 
• Excellent interpersonal skills, out of the box thinker, independence, accountability and proactivity.

• You have self-learning capabilities and eagerness to learn new technologies.
• Self-motivated with a real can-do attitude.
