We are looking for an exceptional software engineer to design and implement wired and wireless battery charging software and firmware for the next generation Apple products. You will be required to explore novel system power and battery management software algorithms and ship them into our products. The influence of the proposed innovations will span across system architecture, hardware, kernel drivers, firmware, and global system behavior, striving to satisfy both word class system performance and power delivery constraints at the same time.

Description

We are looking for an extraordinary software engineer to lead, design and implement wired and wireless battery charging software features in Apple products. You will work with Hardware, Systems and other cross-functional teams and lead the bring-up and development of charging features from pre-silicon to commercialization. The position requires high level thinking to architect code solutions along with low level programming and excellent communications and leadership skills, with the ability to work in a fast paced environment. Working on this technology you will have the opportunity to have a major impact on the implementation and quality of Apple's next generation products. B.S., M.S. in Electrical & Computer Engineering or equivalent experience

• Preferred skills and experience:
• 2+ years of industry experience developing device drivers and/or hardware bring-up.
• Proven C/C++ skills are required.
• Hands on experience with IOKit or micro-controller development a plus.
• Comfortable reading schematics and working with logic analyzers and/or oscilloscopes.
• Knowledge of computer and/or smartphone system architectures. Familiarity with modern power management techniques.
• Familiarity of battery management algorithms.
• Knowledge of control system theory
• Experience with IOKit drivers on macOS or iOS.
• Familiarity with wireless charging standards such as Qi (WPC) or PMA.

• At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $138,900.00 and $256,500.00, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
