As a Cellular 5G/4G Firmware RF Verification Engineer, you will be at the center of the embedded 5G/4G/multimode cellular firmware effort within a silicon design group responsible for crafting and productizing groundbreaking cellular SoCs. This position requires someone comfortable will all aspects of embedded firmware verification, that thrives in a multi-functional organization, is not afraid to debate ideas openly, and is flexible enough to shift on requirements.

• Minimum BS and 10+ years of relevant industry experience
• Strong RF background and familiarity with RF systems fundamentals as well as hands-on experience with RF test equipment (network analyzer, spectrum analyzer, vector signal analyzer, vector signal generator, etc.)
• Validated understanding on RF, PLL, and general wireless systems measurements (i.e. ACLR, ACPR, EVM, phase noise, lock time, etc.)
• Experience in cellular RF system development / RF SW verification
• Ability to work multi-functionally with different teams to define & implement RF verification test plan that will help achieve the outstanding modem targets
• Knowledge of RF transceiver and RF front end components controlling for 4G/5G radio as well as understanding of RF calibrations for compensating RF impairments
• Shown track-record of innovation and hands-on experience in RF measurement setup and test methodology
• Strong understanding of automation tools and scripting languages such as Python, C/C++, Java (a plus)
• Strong proven understanding of multiple 4G/5G signaling and physical layer test equipment along with their automation interfaces
• Experience with network emulators, silicon prototyping, emulation systems, and virtual platforms will be an added plus

• Work closely with the product teams, implement and complete RF test plan according to cellular modem RF SW requirements • Study and analysis of post-Silicon RF measurement data and test results to debug issues and identify potential optimization opportunities • Design, setup and maintain RF test platforms including integration & bring up DUT • Active participation in modem RF measurement, solving and optimization • Work with system engineers and FW developers to understand the details of system design, modem architecture and FW implementation to supply to RF optimization, issue triaging & debugging

• At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $170,700.00 and $300,200.00, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
