This position serves as the Finance Director and works closely with the Program Director, Director of Operations and Diversity, and the Director of Planning and Innovation, and other staff as needed, in providing fiscal leadership for the statewide NC AHEC Program. The Finance Director will plan, organize, and direct a broad range of budgetary functions and grant activities, including developing the strategic direction for fiscal responsibilities.The Finance Director will plan, organize, and direct a broad range of budgetary functions and grant activities, including developing the strategic direction for fiscal responsibilities. The responsibilities of the Director of finance include:Collaborating and communicating budget, expenditure, and cost allocation details with on-campus departments, regional AHEC centers and federal partners.Preparing and maintaining the authorized budgets, expenditures, forecasting, and variance analysis.Analyzing NC AHEC's complex budget to ensure accurate alignment of expenditures and revenues.Providing leadership on all financial matters, including assuring the availability of funding for statewide programs or project initiatives.Creating financial tools to provide tracking and documenting of financial performance relative to the strategic goals, plans and initiatives.Creating and validating cost centers and expense accounts for all operating budgets.Interpreting laws and policies to ensure compliance with UNC guidelines, state and federal funding.Serving as the liaison with UNC General Administration Finance, School of Medicine Finance Office, UNC Chapel Hill Vice Chancellor of Finance and Provost.Managing all aspects of financial transactions and communications between the NC AHEC Program Office with the nine regional AHECs and the Duke AHEC Program Office.Coordinating with Director of Operations and Diversity, Director of Planning and Innovation to facilitate processes with Office of Sponsored Research for state and federal funding.Overseeing the administration of Medical Air Inc./UNC Air Operations, including daily financial issues, coordinating annual audit and finalizing the 990 tax form.Other related projects or duties as determined by the NC AHEC Program Director or the Director of Operations and Diversity.
