Description

 

Encapsulates individuals who manage projects and programs within IT. It is organized around four areas: qualifications, project management competencies, personal competencies, and other requirements.

 

Essential Functions: Overall : • Manages complex projects or multiple projects of moderate complexity . • Total Managed Project Budget : Up to $10 M. Project Complexity : • Multiple Sites. • Up to 10 interdependent Work Tracks. • Scope of work encompasses multiple business units and may span across multiple portfolios. • Scope of project enhancements is across multiple applications, with applications spanning across multiple portfolios or BIO organizations. • Project scope includes internally, externally and ASP supported applications. Project Integration Management :(Project Charter, Scope, Project Management Plan, Direct and Manage Project Execution, Control Work and Changes, Close Out). • Converts business cases to business plans. • Develops and executes user training plans. • Stays abreast of portfolio projects. • Develops framework and manages the tracking of interdependencies within or across projects. • Manages coordination across multiple stakeholders from both IT and Business to ensure project objectives are met.

Project Scope Management :(Scope planning, definition, WBS, scope verification, scope control). • Understands and consistently meets project stakeholder expectations within scope of project role by responding promptly to client/stakeholder inquiries. • Demonstrates knowledge and use of change management process. Project Time Management :(Detailed activity and resource planning, on time control). • Responsible for accurate time reporting for project work they are leading. • Manages tracking of interdependencies across multiple sub-projects. • Responsible for measuring and reporting "on time" metric for assigned scope. Project Cost Management :(Detailed activity and resource costing, on budget control, develop and manage forecasts). • Leverages knowledge and prior experience to develop appropriate solutions. • Responsible for measuring and reporting "on budget" metric for assigned scope. Project Quality Management: (Project quality plan, perform quality assurance and control). • May provide quality reviews and guidance for projects. • Coordinates ith appropriate technical groups the development of and maintenance of the system acceptance test environment. • Ensures quality criteria are met before software is distributed. • Directs or may develop the quality/testing strategies for the project. Provides best practice recommendations and trade-off scenarios for consideration. Project Human Resource Management :(HR Planning, Acquire, Develop, Manage Team). • Leverages knowledge of and trains members team in Project Management methodology, skills, and tools. • Provides input to performance appraisals for team members. • Provides direct, constructive feedback/ and coaching to team members. • Handles or escalates performance issues. • Provides project management mentoring for team members. • Conducts team building and development activities. • Establishes coordination across projects to ensure adequate resources are available and delivery commitments are met. • Oversees transition of project team members to new projects. Project Communications Management :(Communications Planning, Information Distribution, Performance Reporting, Stakeholder Management). • Responsible for tracking and reporting accurate project and deliverable status for assigned scope of work. • Capable of developing communication presentations with minimal guidance. • This job description is not all encompassing.

Qualifications

 

Basic Qualifications:

Experience • Minimum six (6) years experience.

Education • Bachelor's degree in related field or four (4) years equivalent experience. • High School Diploma or General Education Development (GED) required.

License, Certification, Registration • N/A

  Additional Requirements: • Project Management Professional (PMP) from the Project Management Institute preferred. • Must maintain certification with Kaiser Permanente Information Technology's Project Management Academy per program requirements. • Healthcare industry knowledge. • Information technology experience. • Matches appropriate IT methods to identified clients needs. • Thorough knowledge of policies, practices and systems. • Regularly contributes to the development of new concepts, techniques, and standards. • Considered functional expert in field within KP. • Frequently contributes to the development of new theories and methods. • Employs expertise as a generalist or specialist. • Leverages knowledge and prior business experience to develop and present rational conclusions, recommendations and implementation strategies and plans. • Having a wide-ranging experience uses professional concepts and company objectives to resolve complex issues increative and effective ways. • Exercises judgment in selecting methods, techniques and evaluation criteria for obtaining results.
