About the role

As a Contract Manager within Commercial Operations, you’ll be joining a team focused on working across multi-party terms/clauses as a commercial contract negotiator, gaining incremental business and resolving commercial disputes with favourable outcomes. Your key focus will be to optimise the contractual and commercial performance of Optus’ largest customer contracts, within Optus Enterprise.

You’ll be leading one or more Tier 1 customer contracts (high-value ICT and evolving customer-facing accounts; typically in Financial Services Industry or Federal Government depending on account size and complexity). Additionally, you’ll assist on major bids supporting the lead contract negotiator, legal and commercial team.

Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Sales support for new business opportunities and variations (negotiating head agreements, schedules, statement of works, and supply agreements).
  • Ensuring a robust post-sales contract management relationship is created with expectation and service quality front of mind.
  • Develop and document approvals/changes of contracts.
  • Be the single point of contact for customer contractual commercial issues, disputes, and settlements with respect to contractual requirements.
  • Commercial Risk Management – Interpret, implement and monitor contract obligations (tracking changes, risks and maintaining registers).
  • Lead review and sign-off on major services agreements.

About you

In this role, you’ll pay a pivotal part in ensuring Group policies, ISO certified processes procedures, regulatory and applicable laws are in compliance. Therefore, you’ll bring to this role demonstrated previous experience in a same and/or similar position coupled with high level relationship skills and the ability to create/execute plans accordingly. Your high attention to detail and ability to identify/solving for solution will be pivotal. Additionally, you will also bring to the role:

  • Tertiary degree in Business, Law, Accounting, Engineering and/or relevant Contract Management experience.
  • Proven track record in drafting contract term clauses to completion with minimal reliance on Legal support.
  • Ability to shape and negotiating complex legal agreements and commercial structures.
  • Strong commercial, business, and risk management experience.
  • Significant experience in ICT, customer-facing and outsourcing services that include strategic business partnering with both customers and suppliers.
  • Experience in leading complex mediation and disputes.
  • Demonstrable ability to influence in providing business/technical leadership and tactical advice, aligning account plans and activities with broader divisional unit plans.
