You as Software Development Engineer - Windows Applications will be part of Hitachi ABB Power Grids business-based Chennai. You will be expected to develop software modules of Highest Quality, within Budget and Time, for MACH Control Platform.

Your responsibilities

• Development: Developing software modules of Highest Quality, within Budget and Time, for MACH Control Platform.
• Testing: Bench Testing or Unit testing the modules developed.
• Agile Process: Familiar with Agile Development Processes or similar.
• Programing Languages: Should be open to program in C#, Visual C++,.Net etc.
• Maintenance bug fixes: Should understand the code, bug reports, or Change request from customer to fix it for maintenance software release.

Your background

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering in computer science or Information technology or Electronics and communication.
• 2 - 8 years of Software development experience with C# & .Net Technologies.
• Sound knowledge in Windows Communication Foundation (WCF), WinForms, Language Integrated Query (LINQ).
• Knowledge in databases like SQL.
• Writing high-performance Windows services and client-side (primarily desktop) applications.
• Knowledge on Debugging complex multi-threaded and event-based applications.
• Sound Knowledge of algorithms and data structures.
• Hands on experience in Microsoft Technologies, Operating systems like Windows Server, DNS technologies.
• Basic knowledge of networks and infrastructure (switches, routers, firewalls), configuration and troubleshooting.
• Strong understanding of Configuration Management and version control tools such as TFS, git.
• Proficiency in English, speaking and writing.
