Your mission …
In this hands-on role, you will be responsible for the end-to-end delivery of highly complex and multi-faceted space segment programs with significant Capex value.
Specific responsibilities will encompass the management of the specification, procurement, deployment and acceptance of satellite flight hardware and systems, satellite launch services and associated insurances required for the programs assigned, as well as all spacecraft specific ground segment hardware and software and engineering and support services to be delivered by satellite manufacturers.
In addition, under each program, you will be responsible for ensuring ground-based satellite control systems and associated earth station infrastructure necessary for the on-orbit operation of the space segment are fit-for-purpose and delivered within agreed budgets and schedules, with such systems typically designed, integrated and tested by other teams.
You will also provide day-to-day management of major vendors and co-ordinate assigned subject matter experts and technologists, program engineers and administrative and other support personnel to ensure effective oversight of, and programmatic control over, the delivery of space segment assets for the programs assigned.
As a senior member of the Satellite and Space Systems Department, you will provide critical and effective input to the leadership group to support the formulation of space segment strategy, risk management, problem solving and decision making within the context of the Optus Satellite business. You will also provide programmatic and technical support to other Program Managers and Senior Program Managers within areas of expertise on an as-needed basis at the request of line management.
