The High Voltage Product group is looking for a Business Controller to support its growth plan. As a valued member of the local management team and reporting to the Local Business Unit Manager High Voltage Products, you will play a key role in the business by actively overseeing all financial aspects. The Business Controller acts as a business partner to the Local Business Unit Manager to deliver on operational goals and plans.

Your responsibilities

  • Partner with the operations team in Canada to translates strategy into business plans and establishes measurable targets. Oversees the business planning and forecasting process for the area of responsibility and serves as the interface to the HUB BL Controller. Evaluates financial implications of various strategic decisions, builds scenarios, and recommends actions
  • Monitors all financial aspects of operational KPI’s and provides insight and analysis to support operational decision-making. Identifies issues and advises management on action plans and operational strategies to resolve. Responsible to drive appropriate cost structure, productivity optimization and capital efficiency. Manages and closely monitors OCF and Operational EBITA % and takes action to improve Net Working Capital
  • Ensures high quality and compliance of financial data and business information in line with defined standards & financial closing schedules. Implements and ensures compliance with global and local standards, rules and regulations, tools, policies, and processes, ensuring transparency in financial reporting and disclosures.
  • Active participation in the tender preparation and review process, assess commercial and financial risks and opportunities, contribute to defining mitigation plans for risks identified and action plans to materialize opportunities.
  • Produce annual budgets, quarterly forecasts, estimates, and other reports requested.
  • Manage team comprised of a project controller and remote controlling & planning COE analysts, providing coaching, support, and development opportunities.

Your background

  • Knowledgeable, supportive, and willing to take a leadership role
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance (CPA title is an asset)
  • Minimum of ten (10) years of controlling or accounting experience
  • Strong analytical decision-making and problem-solving skills as well as ability to quickly adapt to changing situations and work under pressure
  • Autonomy, flexibility, adaptability, persuasiveness
  • Ability to coach, develop and support team members with varying degrees of financial knowledge and expertise
  • Fluent in English and French
