Sony Corporation of America (SCA) currently has an opening for an Advanced Computer Vision & Graphics Research Intern in our U.S. Research Lab located in San Jose, CA. This position is responsible for research and development in the areas of computer graphics, computer vision, and image/video processing with emphasis on innovation for advancing the state-of-the-art technology. Focus includes development of novel computer vision algorithms with the goal of providing cost-effective and high visual quality solutions for Sony products, and publication.

Required Qualifications:

  • Currently enrolled in a PhD or master’s program in computer science, electrical engineering, or a related field
  • Research background in the area of computer graphics, computer vision, or image/video processing
  • Excellent analytical and mathematical skills
  • Good familiarity with C, and MATLAB or Python programming languages
  • Ability to work independently and/or in a team environment
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills

Preferred Qualifications:

  • A master’s degree
  • Publication record
  • Knowledge of 3D modeling
  • Experience with machine learning and its platforms.
