Zeta is looking for backend engineers with great talent and potential to join us! We are seeking experienced, energetic, and self-starting technologists to join the Data Cloud team. Our Data Cloud team is responsible for the Zeta Identity Graph platform, which captures billions of behavioral, demographic, environmental, and transactional signals, for people-based marketing.

As part of this team, the backend engineer will be designing and growing our existing audience generation platform, implementing the product features, code and unit test product features, review product documentation, support quality assurance team, support proof of concept activities, diagnose and fix product problems/bugs. 

Responsibilites:

As a Senior Backend Engineer, your responsibilities will include:

• Independently and cooperatively understanding business requirements, designing and implementing core components for the audience generation platform
• Designing, implementing application code to satisfy product requirements
• Strengthening development and release processes within the team
• Ensuring high product quality through rigorous code reviews and unit tests
• Fixing bugs and implementing enhancements
• Taking ownership of a significant product component in design and implementation

Requirements:

We are looking for exceptional talent with superior academic credentials and a solid foundation in computer sciences and distributed systems design and development.

The candidate will have had at least 5 years of experience developing scalable, robust software platforms using Python/Ruby/Java or an equivalent language. An undergraduate degree in Computer Science (or a related field) from a university where the primary language of instruction is English is strongly desired. Strong communication skills in a large distributed development team environment are essential.

Qualifications:

• 5+ years of object-oriented Python software development
• 5+ years software engineering experience (or M.S. Computer Science with 3+ years of relevant

experience)

• B.S. or M.S. in Computer Science or related field
• Proficient with relational databases and Advanced SQL
• Proven ability to build large, reliable, scalable infrastructure -- you've directly contributed to

scaling a highly-trafficked website or web application

• Very experienced with REST APIs, web application deployment and software design principles
• Comfortable troubleshooting complex data and systems interaction problems
• Comfortable creating and interpreting BPMN and UML design documentation
• Ability to communicate technical concepts clearly and concisely in oral and written form
• Independent contributor, motivated self-learner and team player
• Experience with Kafka, Storm, Flask, Django, Postgres, Redshift, Redis, Elasticsearch
• Experience with Spark, Hive, Cassandra, Airflow, Looker, and Docker is nice to have
