The Opportunity

QVC is seeking a dynamic and passionate intern to support our state-of-the-art Lighting Department in West Chester!

Please note that this position will be on site and this position will have to follow all COVID19 guidelines on site.

Your Impact

• Provide support for the entire lighting team through regular hands-on work in the studio. 
• Maintain inventories of expendable items in the lighting shop. 
• Work directly with professional Lighting Designers and Engineers to maintain and improve a multi-million dollar lighting system.
• “Walk-a-mile” with other production departments to get a complete look at the QVC Broadcast.
• Assist lighting with testing of new fixtures and equipment.
• Learn basic television lighting design concepts
• Perform some basic equipment repair, and learn the ins-and-outs of state of the art lighting equipment.

What You Bring

• Education: Currently enrolled in a Bachelor or Master's Degree program in theatre lighting, film lighting, with a focus in technical or design, or former experience working experience in television, theatrical or entertainment lighting preferred.
• Prior internship experience in a corporate environment supporting lighting preferred.
• The desire to pursue a career in Lighting.
• High level of personal maturity and responsibility.
• Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to work with team members at different levels.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills, with a stellar knowledge of correct grammar usage.
• Basic skill set consisting of basic lighting and color.
• Knowledge of various fixtures and effects and their applications.
• Basic knowledge of television and entertainment lighting.
• Basic knowledge in the areas of lighting dimmers, LEDs, DMX control signals, intelligent lighting, basic electronics and basic electricity is a plus.
• Must be willing to work 9am to 5pm, 5 days a week; Monday to Friday with some flexibility.
• Excellent organizational skills with keen attention to detail.
