Sr Mgr of Marketing Analytics

We are seeking a talented leader to take ownership of the Marketing Analytics team to create insights, drive strategy, and be a key business partner to the Marketing organization. The role sits within the centralized analytics group at Zulily and has direct oversight of performance and brand marketing analytics. Total team size will be ~7 supporting a marketing team of 50+. The candidate will be expected to demonstrate the ability to lead through others, hire and develop high-potential talent and raise the bar on coaching/mentorship. Not only is this individual a key thought-partner to our CMO, they also are responsible in helping drive long term analytics strategy and products for the Marketing organization.

The role is responsible for analyses, tests, and enabling data solutions for channel managers and partners as they seek to grow customers, long-term value & ultimately profit margin. This person will interface with our Technology teams (and 3rd party partners) to seek out solutions and products that can add accretive value to Zulily. This will require assessing technical and implementation challenges and making recommendations on the feasibility of using platforms/services to improve campaign performance. They will oversee a team who is at the forefront of driving rapid testing and learning.

Success in this role requires a strong bias for action, and the ability to execute daily at the highest level. In addition to a deep technical background and analytical mind, the candidate will demonstrate strong organizational agility and executive presence. They should be able to share knowledge, influence and execute through differing degrees of talent and experience.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Identify and manage appropriate tools and technology to empower the analytics team
  • Show expertise in A/B testing and mentor the team on best practices and process optimization
  • Partner with CMO and leadership team on initiatives, metrics, business cases and strategy
  • Develop deep subject matter expertise on marketing channel and core customer experiences at Zulily
  • Be informed on industry trends in measurement/optimization for advertising and customer experience
  • Engage with Data and BI teams to create product roadmap for Mktg Analytics
  • Engage with current and future 3rd party vendors to assist on optimization and investment at Zulily
  • Assist channel leads with effectively managing advertising & customer program budgets
  • Collaborate with others to achieve channel and program goals (e.g. annual financial results)
  • Participate and drive tech prioritization conversations for Marketing Analytics
  • Initiate and drive strategic cross-channel optimization and testing based on data and insights
  • Present to and influence C-level leadership related to marketing led initiatives
  • Effectively lead through others; Develop high performing team of marketing leads and managers

Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of related experience in an analytical field or occupation
  • 5+ years of leadership and people management experience including 2+ years managing leaders of others
  • Exceptional with Excel, SQL, and manual data analysis
  • Experienced with visualization tools such as Tableau or Power BI
  • Ability to understand and evaluate solutions built from more complex tools such as R and Python
  • Experienced with either hands-on or applied advanced statistical methods and model development
  • Strong knowledge of marketing metrics & optimization techniques
  • Strong fundamental understanding of ecommerce and retail environments
  • High financial acumen & experience partnering with organizations responsible for large dollar investment
  • Experience in a high paced, high volume multi-tasking role and environment
