The Hardware in the Loop (HWIL) RF Systems Department has the responsibility to design, develop, and maintain complex engineering test systems (missile flight simulators) that operate real-time and closed-loop with the weapon’s hardware and software.

Job Description:

This position is for a Sr Software Engineer, G09, who has the educational and professional experience in the development and implementation of software applications. Contributing to the development of new principles and concepts, resolving unusually complex technical software problems, and providing solutions which are highly innovative and ingenious. Works under consultative direction toward predetermined long-range goals and objectives. Assignments are often self-initiated and the candidate determines and pursues courses of action necessary to obtain desired results. Follows or recommends changes to department processes and procedures and reviews software products for soundness of technical judgment and adequacy. Provides guidance to junior staff. Develops advanced technological ideas and guides their development into a final product. Serves as a team spokesperson on advanced projects and programs.

U.S. Citizenship status is required as this position needs an active U.S. Security Clearance as of day one of employment.

Required Education, Skills and Experience:

  • U.S. Citizenship required
  • Requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM)
  • Six (6) or more years of experience in software testing and design , using C++ or other closely related software language
  • Three (3) years of experience in technical leadership role
  • Previous experience developing in an object-oriented software environment

Desired Skills:

  • Experience developing software for real-time operating environments
  • Experience working with the Linux operating system, or closely related operating systems
  • Strong ability to work in a team environment
  • Experience working with software configuration management principles and tools
  • Past engineering experience working in a matrix organization comprised of multidiscipline design teams across multiple project with rigorous design disciplines

This position requires the eligibility to obtain a security clearance. Non-US citizens may not be eligible to obtain a security clearance. The Defense Industrial Security Clearance Office (DISCO), an agency of the Department of Defense, handles and adjudicates the security clearance process. Security clearance factors include, but are not limited to, allegiance to the US, foreign influence, foreign preference, criminal conduct, security violations and drug involvement. Employment is contingent on other factors, including, but not limited to, background checks and drug screens.
