We are looking for a Real-Time Electro-Optical/Infrared (EO/IR) Sensor and Scene Modeling Technologist to provide a systems approach to the design and development of novel engineering test environments used to ensure the functional and performance capabilities of Raytheon Missiles & Defense products.

Job Description:
The candidate will be responsible for developing digital scene generation and platform control models for active and passive EO phenomena, and applying innovative and emerging technologies to implement real time stimulus environments for product integration and test development. The successful candidate will also understand how to leverage HIL/CIL systems to support the entire product integration and test lifecycle, including open and closed-loop software and hardware integration and verification. The candidate will understand how to apply knowledge of EO critical performance parameters to model, design, integrate, optimize, align, characterize and/or calibrate, physical and digital components or structures in engineering development environments for all-digital applications, digital injection with production representative hardware and software test assets, and defining new opportunities for photons-in testing. The candidate will also be expected to provide technical leadership to diverse teams, providing technical guidance, subject matter expertise, analysis, trades studies, and task recommendations while working with the Engineering organization in establishing technology roadmaps and modernization plans. Candidate will be responsible for providing guidance, coaching/mentoring, and training to other employees across the business within area of expertise.
Required Education, Skills and Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Science, Engineering, Physics, or Mathematics
- Twelve (12) years engineering experience in EO/IR Hardware-in-the-loop or other real-time simulation testing/integration test environments
- Past work experience throughout the entire real-time software lifecycle for closed loop applications (software development, simulation, test, and integration)
- Applied work experience developing the architectural design of real-time closed loop systems utilizing 6 Degrees of Freedom (6DoF) or other simulations
- Recent past work experience in software development with two or more of the following:
- Developing multi-threaded/multi-core software
- Object oriented development using C++
- Software development for real-time systems using Linux OS
- Agile Software development methods and processes
- Business/Product Development-related experience performing three or more of the following:
- Prior experience conducting trade studies and performance analysis
- Conducting technical research associated with real-time software applications leading to new development or programs
- Practical work experience assessing technical, developmental, and/or execution risks to performance objectives
- Experience in preparing and delivering briefs / status to business and/or program leadership
- New business capture experience including contribution or authoring of white papers, competitive proposal’s technical volumes and/or growth strategies
- Patent applications, invention disclosures and/or reviewed publications in applicable technical areas within the past 5 years
- Must be a US citizen
- Active Department of Defense Secret clearance
Desired Education, Skills and Experience:
- Advanced degree in aforementioned degrees
- Minimum of ten (10) years of project leadership experience of diverse teams
- Vast experience and broad knowledge of industry (commercial) real-time test solutions
- Demonstrated willingness and engagement of troubleshooting and analytical skills to solve complex problems
- Experienced with various types of industry I/O standards
- Applicable knowledge of Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) principles and development
- Development of highly advanced software applications that have resulted in organizational impact
- Strong interpersonal skills working in a team environment
- Demonstrated ability to put forth and drive technical execution plans
- Experience in multiple cooperative sensor scenarios, including multi-mode (EO+RF) systems
- Understanding and experience with Cyber Security techniques, applications, and software development a plus
- Linux device driver development for real-time systems
- Experience with algorithm development utilizing Graphics Processing Units (GPU)s
- Continuous improvement of software applications, architectures, and/or processes that result in product and process improvement
- Excellent time management and organizational skills with ability to manage multiple priorities from multiple sources
- Excellent communication skills required to convey technical concepts to varying audience members
- A self-driven technical achiever who can work in diverse environments to define technical strategies and execution in response to rapid technology growth
- Ability to prioritize multiple efforts and redirect focus in a moment’s notice and ability to manage multiple priorities from multiple sources
- Mentoring of junior and senior hardware in the loop engineers
