MTM Transit is growing! We are hiring a Maintenance Manager to learn our company and culture, located in Martin County, FL.
The Manager, Maintenance oversees and maintains an effective fleet maintenance program to ensure that fleet vehicles are maintained in an effective and safety conscious manner. The Manager, Maintenance will be able to perform duties in a timely manner and advise higher-level manager of any potential issues that could affect the overall performance and longevity of the fleet.
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for the daily management of vehicle and bus shelter maintenance
- Ensures that all contractual requirements are achieved
- Performs diagnosis, examines and investigates vehicles to determine causes of defective components
- Ensures County’s transit asset management software program is current and reports are complete
- Ensures vehicle availability to operate services at optimum level
- Participates in County audits and reviews
- Provides recommendations for new fleet procurement
- Provides reports to county regarding all on-board equipment failures
Minimum Qualifications:
- H.S. diploma or G.E.D, required
- College degree, preferred
- Must have at least five (5) years’ experience maintaining diesel, heavy duty vehicles
- Must be ASE level A Mechanic
- Must have CDL class B with Air-brake Testing
- Must have experience tracking parts, inventory, vendors and suppliers
- Must have computer skills, word processing, data entry and spreadsheet knowledge
- Must possess a valid driver’s license
- Will be required to drive a company or rental vehicle (failure to pass an annual Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) background screen may result in termination of employment)
- This position involves supervision of direct reports and includes establishment of annual goals and objectives, coaching and mentoring, conducting annual performance reviews, issuing disciplines, and providing daily oversight of assigned tasks
- Must be authorized to work in the United States and not require work authorization sponsorship by our company for this position now or in the future
Competency Based Qualifications:
- Ability to acquire in-depth knowledge of MTM Transit operations, company policies, and guidelines
- Ability to schedule, organize and prioritize multiple tasks
- Ability to maintain high level of confidentiality
- Moderate to advanced computer skills
- Exceptional interpretation and problem solving skills
