MTM Transit is growing! We are hiring an Operations Manager to learn our company and culture, located in Martin County, FL.
The Manager, Operations will play a key role in the management, training, and development of staff and implementation of short and long-term strategic processes. The Manager, Operations will oversee all aspects of the operations staff, primarily the drivers, maintenance, and dispatch staff to ensure that the daily operations and needs of the client are effective, efficient, and are completed based on contractual requirements. The Manager, Operations will strive to ensure the safest and highest quality transportation experience for our passengers while operating within the budget of the contract.
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for the daily management of on-road service delivery and compliance
- Supervises all staff assigned
- Ensures all new hires meet minimum qualifications including DMV checks
- Performs employee counseling, recommends for re-training and terminates, as needed
- Effectively manages on-time performance and driver availability
- Creates reports and compiles data relating to operational issues and performance measures
- Reports to the scene of an accident/incident and prepares appropriate reports
- Transports drivers to drug testing site when required
- Performs unannounced audits at the drug testing center, as needed
- Serves as the safety expert and attends state-wide safety meetings when requested by the County
- Assists County in the completion of condition asset reporting and safety inspections and audits
- Reviews and comments on all safety related programs and plans and makes updates, as needed
- Attends monthly County meetings
- Covers shifts for other personnel when vacant, does not include drivers
Minimum Qualifications:
- H.S. diploma or G.E.D, required
- College degree, preferred
- Must have at least five (5) years of effective management experience within a fixed route environment
- Transportation Industry Safety experience, required
- FTA or FDOT Safety Certification, preferred, or be able to obtain one within six months of hire
- Must be available during all operational hours and on weekends, as needed
- Must possess a valid driver’s license
- Will be required to drive a company or rental vehicle (failure to pass an annual Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) background screen may result in termination of employment)
- One-year accident/injury free driving record
- Will require local and overnight travel
- This position involves supervision of direct reports and includes establishment of annual goals and objectives, coaching and mentoring, conducting annual performance reviews, issuing disciplines, and providing daily oversight of assigned tasks
- Must be authorized to work in the United States and not require work authorization sponsorship by our company for this position now or in the future

- Ability to acquire in-depth knowledge of MTM Transit operations, company policies, and guidelines
- Ability to schedule, organize and prioritize multiple tasks
- Ability to maintain high level of confidentiality
- Moderate to advanced computer skills
- Exceptional interpretation and problem solving skills
