Manager of Technical Accounting - Transaction Support

Summary: 

We are seeking a Manager of Technical Accounting for the Transaction Support Group in our Corporate Accounting department to provide day-to-day technical accounting transactional support for the organization in connection with acquisitions.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Perform acquisition accounting for business combinations, including identifying and valuing assets acquired and liabilities assumed in a business combination and preparing journal entries as needed.
  • Supervise the senior in preparation of acquisition accounting for business combinations
  • Assist in acquisition-related accounting including for transactions involving changes in existing ownership, redeemable equity, non-controlling interests and contingent payments.
  • Prepare, and/or coordinate with external valuation specialists in the preparation of, valuation models for intangible assets and business enterprises.
  • Perform technical accounting research; document GAAP accounting and/or SEC reporting for acquisitions as needed.
  • Prepare various internal and external reporting schedules related to acquisitions.
  • Document conclusions in work-papers or in memos, as applicable.
  • Provide guidance to divisional accountants on M&A-related accounting issues
  • Other projects related to acquisition accounting/valuation as needed.

Education & Knowledge:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting.
  • CPA certification or working towards one.
  • Minimum five to seven years accounting experience. Recent technical accounting and/or public accounting experience required.
  • Knowledge of accounting for acquisition transactions including business combinations, non-controlling interests and redeemable equity accounting a plus.
  • Knowledge of collaborative arrangements, lease accounting and revenue recognition accounting literature a plus.
  • Oracle and BPC experience a plus.

Physical Requirements/Work Environment:

Sits for extended periods of time at a computer station or work desk; stands and walks regularly throughout the day; uses hands and fingers to operate computers and office equipment for up to 8 hours each day; lifts up to 10 pounds regularly; exposed to typical office environment conditions and noise levels.
