The Role: 

Under the supervision of in-house counsel, this person will assist with performing certain duties within Live Nation Merchandise’s intellectual property enforcement program, primarily assisting with online enforcement and related research and document drafting projects.

Responsibilities:

  • Review and analyze reports of suspected online infringements, including product listings and social media posts, and recommend a plan of action with respect to same
  • Evaluate copyright, trademark, publicity right infringement issues
  • Search for and monitor online infringements
  • Research applicable laws and prepare memorandums related to online infringements
  • Under the supervision of in-house counsel, draft takedown notices and demand letters with respect to online infringements, and otherwise assist with enforcement actions as directed by in-house counsel
  • Maintain appropriate files, authorization letters, and records of online IP enforcement matters
  • Assist legal team with rights and authorization clearance process, including researching IP ownership, entering pertinent data into a tracking system, and drafting agreements and letters as directed by in-house counsel

Qualifications/Requirements/Critical Skills: 

  • In pursuit of a JD or LLM degree at an accredited law school; must have completed at least one year of JD or LLM program
  • Familiarity with Copyright, Trademark, and Publicity Rights law, and notice and takedown rules and procedures under the Digital Millennium Copyright Act and similar laws
  • Familiarity with the major ecommerce and social media platforms
  • Strong analytical and decision-making skills
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Willingness to follow detailed instructions and adhere to strict guidelines
  • Organized and detail-oriented
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office & Google Chrome
  • Interns must be available to work out of our San Francisco office with following hour expectations:
  • For Summer - Interns should be available to work 15 to 25 hours per week
  • For Fall/Spring – Interns should be available to work 10 to 20 hours per week
