In this role, you will work on cloud operations challenges and contribute to improving the reliability of the Pega Cloud Platform. You will support the systems you manage, investigate issues, and work with more senior engineers to understand root causes and prevent repeat incidents. Through collaboration with customers and internal stakeholders, you will help deliver high-quality operational support.

At Pega, the technologies you will work with may include Pega Cloud hosted on multi-cloud platforms such as AWS and GCP, microservices technologies including Kubernetes and Docker, databases such as PostgreSQL, MongoDB, and Cassandra, migration tooling, GenAI platforms, and observability tools such as Grafana.

What You'll Do at Pega:

• Monitor and respond to alerts, incidents, service requests, and changes within agreed SLAs.
• Support customer escalations, working with senior team members where needed.
• Assist with provisioning new environments and upgrading infrastructure components and product applications.
• Troubleshoot customer environment issues and contribute to root cause analysis and blameless post-mortems.
• Collaborate with product and engineering teams by sharing observations related to defects, enhancements, reliability, availability, and performance.
• Create, review, and update operational runbooks and standard operating procedures.
• Participate in testing pre-release product enhancements with Engineering.
• Identify opportunities to automate repetitive operational tasks and reduce toil.
• Support project work while adapting to changing business priorities.
• Participate in after-hours on-call rotation, including weekend shifts

What You've Accomplished:

You have hands-on experience across cloud, Linux, middleware, and DevOps technologies, and have developed a strong foundation in operational delivery.

• 3+ years of hands-on operational or engineering experience installing, configuring, troubleshooting, and tuning Java applications and Apache Tomcat application servers.
• 3+ years of experience with enterprise-scale Linux administration.
• Experience with microservices architecture; Kubernetes experience is preferred.
• 1+ years of hands-on operational experience with Amazon Web Services. Exposure to additional public clouds such as GCP or Azure is a plus.
• Good understanding of cloud-based infrastructure, platform, and application operations, including upgrades, installations, backup and recovery, monitoring, and observability.
• Experience analyzing performance issues using tools such as thread and heap dumps, with a working understanding of JVM memory structure and garbage collection concepts.
• Experience administering web servers such as Tomcat, Apache, IIS, or Nginx.
• Working knowledge of database troubleshooting and SQL skills, preferably PostgreSQL or Oracle.
• Basic network troubleshooting skills, including TCP/IP, DNS, and VPN.
• Experience using Bash/Shell, Python, or similar scripting languages to support automation of common tasks.

Education / Certifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or equivalent experience.
• AWS Certification is a plus.
• Certified Kubernetes Administrator is a plus.

Pega experience is a plus.

Additional Information

Base salary range for this role is 167,500 - 250,500 PLN annually. This role may also be eligible for annual bonus OR commission, as well as benefits and other incentives.

The final compensation will be determined during the offer process based on the candidate's education, experience, skills, and qualifications, as well as market conditions and may vary from the posted range. We will share an information on benefits, bonus/commission, and other pay components for this role at the relevant recruitment stage.
