Production Change Process Engineer, Optimus, Material Handling

Tesla

What To Expect

The Production Change Process Engineer is responsible for designing, implementing, and continuously improving the change control process. Their work involves optimizing the internal material flow for any changes in the physical and systematic flow variations. This is achieved through cross-departmental collaboration, where process engineers design change control processes that establish the internal supply chain from the supplier to the lineside part presentations.

In addition, the Production Change Process Engineer acts as a bridge for cross-departmental communication and ensures that production control is in perfect sync with the MBOM, Quality, Design Engineering, and any Product Change Approvals. The role also involves reviewing every change to maintain efficiency and quality while reducing costs and safety concerns. This work begins after the preliminary designs are confirmed and the EBOM is released. The Production Change Process Engineer works closely with the new product introduction team to plan for each part for equipment validation, manufacturing confirmations, and finally, ensuring that the material flow is ready for standard operating production volumes.

The Production Control / Material Handling team places a high value on excellence, and this never-ending persistence for excellence is essential to achieving a World Class Manufacturing system.
