We are looking for a team player with solid technical skills to add to our core processing engineering team. Candidates must have a strong technical background and be capable of coming up to speed on new technologies quickly. Good communication and problem-solving skills, and the ability to work both individually and collaboratively in a team environment are required.

This is an entry to mid-level cross-functional engineering position, supporting the development of our processing systems. The primary job responsibilities are the development, testing, and integration of hardware subsystems for our portfolio of processing solutions. Our products incorporate custom logic designs using FPGAs. In addition, the engineer will be expected to work closely with hardware and software engineers to ensure designs can be successfully integrated into the larger system.

The Electronics Design Engineer is responsible for:

  • Design and development of hardware subsystems, meeting performance, manufacturability, reliability, schedule and cost goals
  • Research, select, and procure components for prototyping and test fixtures (boards, enclosures, components, cabling, test equipment, etc.)
  • Develop test plans and perform verification testing and systems integration of designs
  • Create documentation for design specifications, test procedures, and test/analysis results
  • Develop, expand, and maintain the capabilities of hardware lab and computing infrastructure as needed to support our programs

Here's what you'll need

  • Knowledge and experience with hardware design, including digital design, common interfaces, analog circuitry, power supply, timing and synchronization, etc.
  • Ability to perform analysis, studies/trade-offs in support of subsystem specification, hardware, FPGA and software
  • Experience in architecting or designing and test platforms for verification on hardware, including developing and writing software for testing, e.g. C, C++, Python, etc.
  • Experience with scripting tools and languages such as Make, Tcl, or Python
  • Proficiency in using common lab test equipment such as spectrum analyzers, oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, etc.
  • Basic knowledge of RF concepts and ability to work with RF equipment for the purposes of designing for and testing systems with RF interfaces

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience with schematic entry and printed circuit board design using Altium Designer or equivalent
  • FPGA design experience using Verilog/VHDL, Xilinx development tools, experience with Xilinx System-on-Chip devices: Zynq MPSoC, Zynq RFSoC FPGAs
  • Experience with software defined radio (SDR)
  • Experience with STM32 microcontrollers and development tools
  • Knowledge of networking and communications systems
  • Knowledge of Digital signal processing and waveform implementation
  • Satellite communication experience

Education

Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, or closely related field (must be from accredited college or university); MSCS/MSEE and/or related job experience would be a plus.

Clearance

Active or Ability to obtain a DoD clearance.

80,000.00

Posted Salary Range: Upper

135,000.00

The base salary range for this position is $80,000.00 to $135,000.00. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
