WETS Deposition group at Lam India Global Hardware Technology (LIGHT) is hiring a Electrical Lead Engineer for its product development engineering and product ownership team.

Job Summary

As an Electrical Lead Engineer, owns and lead controls, instrumentation and electrical subsystem design for WETS modules. Act as a technical owner for medium – complex electrical subsystems across product lifecycle with reliability and cost goals. Drives safety, diagnostics, reliability, and performance of systems

Job Responsibilities

  • Own and influence PDR process deliverables, technical deliverables, obtain design review approvals and achieve project milestones
  • Validates design using prototype or simulation and design verification testing (including test stand development). Safety policy & procedure adherence is mandatory
  • Define cut-in strategy for sub-system changes in collaboration with NPI engineers.
  • Proficient in concept design and development of medium-high complex electrical/electronic circuits.
  • Uses various Engineering/Quality/Analysis tools/processes to arrive at design decisions.
  • Ability to perform critical review & approval of medium - high complex designs/circuits.
  • Performs Problem Solving & Decision Making to enhance engineering processes. Perform 8D (Why-Why, etc.)
  • Ability to finalize/influence detailed design requirements of complex circuit / sub-systems with CFT (ME, safety, system engineering, thermal, etc).
  • Hands‑on involvement in module electrical bring‑up, IO validation, and root‑cause debugging during integration and testing.
  • Work closely with firmware and software teams to define signal interfaces, IO behaviour, and control assumptions

Who we’re looking for

  • Education: B.E. / B.Tech / M.E. / M.Tech in Electrical/Electronics Engineering
  • Experience: Bachelors in Electrical/Electronics Engineering with 5-8 years or Masters in Electrical Engineering between 3-5 years

Core Competencies

  • Proficient in system level understanding of Electro-Mechanical Sub-systems (Semi-conductor/Automotive/Aerospace), Power Distribution/Control systems and/or Industrial Automation.
  • Strong competency in communication protocols - RS485, EtherCAT and Ethernet TCP/IP.
  • Strong experience in mixed circuit design(analog+digital) with strong experience in circuit analysis & simulation, with good hands-on experience in lab testing & validation
  • Good experience in motion control systems – handling drives like Yaskawa/Beckhoff
  • Define and design instrumentation architecture – Temperature, pressure, flow, proximity, position and safety sensors and expert level skill in sensor interfacing and actuators

Desirable Competencies

  • Experience in Semiconductor Wafer Fab Equipment (WFE) domain.
  • Experience in capital equipment or similar (for e.g., Semiconductor, Process industries, medical instrumentation, Automotive, Aerospace, etc.) industry in a sub-system / module design project.
  • Good to have worked on control & simulation tools preferably MATLAB/Simulink or equivalent.
  • Good to have PCBA design skills with CID certification
  • Basic understanding of pneumatic and hydraulic control systems is added advantage

Lam offers a variety of work location models based on the needs of each role. Our hybrid roles combine the benefits of on-site collaboration with colleagues and the flexibility to work remotely and fall into two categories – On-site Flex and Virtual Flex. ‘On-site Flex’ you’ll work 3+ days per week on-site at a Lam or customer/supplier location, with the opportunity to work remotely for the balance of the week. ‘Virtual Flex’ you’ll work 1-2 days per week on-site at a Lam or customer/supplier location, and remotely the rest of the time.
