Role Overview

The Data Coordinator is responsible for supporting day-to-day data operations that enable analytics and reporting across the organization. This position focuses on executing recurring data processes, performing basic data checks, and ensuring outputs are accurate and delivered on time. The Data Coordinator works closely with analytics, data engineering, and other divisions and departments to support reliable data flow and maintain clear documentation.

Duties & Responsibilities

    • Run and monitor recurring data processing tasks and data pipelines following established procedures
    • Perform routine data checks to validate accuracy, completeness, and consistency
    • Identify, document, and escalate data issues or discrepancies as they arise
    • Prepare and refresh datasets used for reporting and analytics
    • Maintain and update basic data documentation, definitions, and process steps
    • Support data requests by ensuring required information and inputs are provided
    • Coordinate with Analytics and Data Engineering teams to resolve data-related questions or issues
    • Track execution status of data processes and report delays or risks
    • Assist with ad hoc data updates or corrections as needed
    • Follow data standards, naming conventions, and governance guidelines
    • Provide regular status updates on assigned data operations

Experience & Qualifications

Education:

    • Bachelor’s degree or certificate in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Data Science, or a related field.

Experience:

    • 0–2 years of experience working with data in an analytics, reporting, operations, or coordination role.Internship, co-op, or entry-level experience involving data handling or operational processes is acceptable.

Data & Tools:

    • Basic proficiency in SQL or willingness to learn SQL. Experience working with spreadsheets (Excel, Google Sheets) and structured data. Exposure to databases, data platforms, or cloud environments (Azure, AWS, Snowflake, or similar) is an asset.

Data Governance:

    • Understanding of basic data concepts such as data accuracy, completeness, and consistency. Ability to follow documented processes and data standards. Exposure to data governance concepts or structured data environments is an asset.

Ticketing Tool:

    • Working knowledge of Jira for project management and issue tracking is a plus.

Soft Skills:

    • Strong attention to detail and ability to execute tasks accurately. Clear written and verbal communication skills. Ability to collaborate with technical and non-technical stakeholders. Organized, dependable, and comfortable working with deadlines and priorities.

Proficiency in both written and verbal English communication is essential for effective correspondence with clients, suppliers, business partners and colleagues beyond the province of Quebec.
