The CyberCab Process Engineer will lead working the with ME team to do the planning, execution, and optimization of Assembly/Welding processes during the launch phase of Tesla’s new products introduction. This role focuses on the successful deployment of multiple manufacturing equipment, ensuring processes meet safety, quality, and operational efficiency targets while achieving key project milestones. Meanwhile, this role also executes production ramp-up activities in alignment with Tesla’s manufacturing standards. The engineer will work collaboratively with cross-functional teams, suppliers, and key stakeholders to deliver world-class manufacturing solutions aligned with Tesla’s innovative standards.
What You'll Do
Define and optimize production processes for Assembly/Welding line launch, focusing on efficiency, safety, and quality. Ensure the development and maintenance of process documentation, including FMEAs, control plans, and manufacturing instruction
Develop and implement process cycle time analyses, line metrics, and overall equipment effectiveness (OEE) improvements
Create and refine process flow, material flow, ergonomic assessments, and line layouts for optimal material flow and operator performance
Collaborate on project milestones including preliminary design reviews, factory acceptance testing (FAT), site acceptance testing (SAT), and final commissioning
Drive approval processes for milestone activities, ensuring completion of required safety forms, technical specifications, and documentation
Analyze data from multiple sources to evaluate build quality and process capability
Collaborate with cross-functional teams during the concept, design, and commissioning phases to define equipment functionality, sequence of operations, and acceptance criteria
Ensure compliance with Tesla Standards (TS) documents for all process and equipment specifications
Apply structured problem-solving techniques (e.g., DMAIC, 8D, Five Why) to resolve launch challenges and optimize processes
Drive adherence to Lean Manufacturing principles in material handling, waste reduction, and ergonomic studies
What You'll Bring
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Industrial, Manufacturing, or related field) or equivalent experience
Demonstrated experience in launching and improving manufacturing processes in a high-volume production environment
Strong understanding of process flow, line balancing, and takt time optimization
Proficiency in data analysis tools (e.g., Python, R, Tableau, Minitab) and statistical process control (SPC) will plus
