What To Expect
Tesla’s Megafactory Facilities team is seeking an experienced Facilities Manager to oversee and manage the operations of our newest Megafactory. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in both mechanical and electrical equipment, along with proven leadership skills. As the Facilities Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring the efficient and reliable functioning of the facility, including power distribution, cooling systems, and related infrastructure. This role requires a high level of technical expertise, attention to detail, and the ability to effectively manage a team.
What You'll Do
Oversee the day-to-day operations of the facility, ensuring optimal performance, reliability, and uptime
Monitor and maintain critical infrastructure systems, including power distribution, cooling systems, fire suppression, and environmental monitoring
Implement and enforce operational procedures, maintenance schedules, and safety protocols to ensure compliance with industry standards and best practices
Conduct regular inspections and audits to identify potential issues, proactively address maintenance needs, and ensure the facility's compliance with regulatory requirements
Coordinate with vendors, suppliers, and contractors to schedule and oversee maintenance, repairs, and upgrades
Identify and diagnose equipment failures, system malfunctions, and other issues, employing technical expertise to resolve them promptly
Analyze performance metrics, identify trends, and implement corrective actions to optimize efficiency and reliability
What You'll Bring
Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or equivalent experience
A minimum of 10 years in facilities operations/engineering with 2+ years in a leadership role
Proven experience managing infrastructure in a high-tech or mission-critical environment (semiconductor, refinery, biotech, data center, or advanced manufacturing)
Deep understanding of MEP systems, power distribution, energy management, UPS, Fire Suppression systems, BMS, and industrial utilities
Strong project management, budgeting, vendor negotiation, and demonstrated leadership capabilities
Excellent communication, organizational, analytical and problem-solving skills
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and make sound judgments under pressure
