Job Summary

The Systems Engineer performs IT functions such as designing, analyzing, evaluating, testing, debugging, and implementing applications programs supporting Greenway’s infrastructure business processes, operations, and/or network-based (Cloud) product systems.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Analyzes, installs, acquires, modifies, and supports operating systems, database or utilities software.
• Plans, conducts, and directs the analysis of business problems with automated systems solutions.
• Analyzes, designs, acquires, and implements projects for LAN and/or WAN systems.
• Plans, designs, acquires, and implements telecommunications voice/wire systems.
• Research solutions involving new 3rd party components
• Script solutions using PowerShell, Puppet, Chef, or other scripting tools
• Configure monitoring.
• Install Windows OS using good principles
• Monitor Windows OS using performance monitor and event manager, as well as 3rd party monitoring tools
• Deploy patches to Windows OS
• Be proficient with networking concepts (TCP/IP ip addressing, ports, routing, bandwidth, latency)
• Install and upgrade Greenway-developed software for end-user use
• Install and upgrade 3rd party components required by Greenway-developed software
• Troubleshoot system issues and implement solutions for larger issues
• Respond to 2nd-tier trouble tickets, and follow-through to completion or escalate as required
• Deploy, monitor, and troubleshoot server hardware solutions.
• May participate in other projects or be assigned tasks or duties as required.
