We are seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to support the installation, maintenance, repair, and continuous improvement of manufacturing equipment, machinery, and facility systems within a fast-paced production environment. This role is responsible for troubleshooting automated equipment, performing mechanical and electrical repairs, and supporting equipment uptime through preventative and corrective maintenance initiatives.
The ideal candidate brings strong hands-on technical experience in electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and PLC-controlled systems. This individual will play a key role in minimizing downtime, improving equipment reliability, and supporting production through effective communication and problem-solving.
Required Skills & Qualifications
High school diploma or GED required
Advanced degree or technical certification preferred
Minimum 5 years of experience in industrial, commercial, or military maintenance environments
Advanced skills in electrical and mechanical troubleshooting of automated equipment
Strong knowledge of PLC functions, ladder logic, troubleshooting, and programming
Understanding of hydraulic systems, cylinders, valves, and force applications
Knowledge of pneumatic systems including cylinders, valves, mufflers, and air components
Understanding of AC/DC electrical systems, amperage, voltage, and wire sizing
Familiarity with National Electric Code standards
Strong mechanical aptitude with machine repair and rebuild experience
Advanced experience with welding, fabrication, and machine tool operation
Ability to read and interpret blueprints, sketches, and engineering drawings
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Preferred Skills & Qualifications
Two-year technical degree, electrical certificate, or licensed trade background
Experience with AMI building systems and programming
Experience with SolidWorks or design software
Knowledge of robotic welding systems and weld conditions
Ability to create design concepts and support equipment modifications
Experience analyzing downtime trends and implementing corrective actions
Day-to-Day Responsibilities
Troubleshoot, repair, install, and replace components on manufacturing equipment and facility systems
Perform preventative maintenance and inspections on production machinery
Diagnose electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and PLC-related equipment issues
Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and machine schematics
Maintain accurate records for replacement parts, spare inventory, and maintenance schedules
Communicate with operators and supervisors to identify equipment issues and performance concerns
Adjust and optimize equipment to support production efficiency and uptime
Use rigging equipment, chains, hoists, jacks, and lift trucks to move heavy machinery
Operate powered hand tools and stationary machine tools safely and effectively
Perform welding and cutting torch work as needed
Use precision measuring tools to ensure fit, alignment, and proper machine function
Recommend replacement parts or suitable component substitutions
Analyze downtime causes and implement countermeasures to improve reliability
Perform additional duties as assigned by leadership
