Summary: Rivers Casino is seeking a motivated, detail-oriented individual to join our team for a comprehensive 12-week immersive program. This internship is designed to provide a high-level overview of IT operations within the fast-paced casino and hospitality industry. You will transition from foundational support to leading a specialized project, gaining hands-on experience with enterprise systems, asset management, and technical documentation.
Program Roadmap
The internship is structured into three distinct phases to ensure a well-rounded professional development experience:
Week(s) 1-4 (IT); Intro to Rivers IT
- New Hire Orientation (NHO) Day 1-2;
- Assists/Shadows IT specialists & engineers
- Provides first level Helpdesk support
- Actively participates in the review, testing and creation on SOP’s
- Maintains positive guest relations at all times;
- Monitors and maintains cleanliness and organization of all assigned work areas; and
- Learns daily IT functions in the casino industry.
Week(s) 5-8 (IT; property knowledge)
- Assists/Shadows IT Specialist I and IT Specialist II
- Assists in inventory management for IT property and equipment
- Assists in asset management
- Assists with naming convention for property hardware
Week(s) 9-12 (IT; Process and project knowledge)
- Develop knowledge in casino IT specific applications.
- Develops phone support etiquette and work with an enterprise Helpdesk ticketing system.
- Utilize current SOP’s to rewrite and test up to date processes
- Build an inventory of IT equipment and understand the ordering and bid process
- Lead a project to simplify end user experience when reporting hardware issues
Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities):
- Must be within 12 months of completion (rising Senior, or graduate) of an Associates, Bachelors, or Master’s Degree.
- Currently pursuing a degree or just completed a degree in a related field at an accredited college or university;
- 3.0 GPA or Higher
- Ability to obtain and maintain all necessary licensing;
- Ability to successfully fulfill the pre-employment background check and drug screen;
- Ability to work flexible shifts and days of the week including holidays;
- Possess strong written and verbal communication skills and proficiency in English;
- Must be able to provide proof of eligibility to work in the US;
- Must have reliable transportation to and from Rivers Casino
Physical and Mental Demands:
- Regularly required to see, walk, talk and hear; use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms.
- Must occasionally lift up to 10 pounds.
- Able to work with others while maintaining a positive and courteous demeanor.
