Join the electric revolution as a Power Module Mechanical Design Engineer at Tesla. You will lead power module design, incorporating packaging assembly processes and spearhead product from design to builds. What You'll Do

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand product requirement and develop power packaging solutions that meet those needs

Mechanical design and optimization of power modules. Optimization considering thermal, mechanical, assembly tolerance stacks, design for manufacturing (DFM)

Conduct research and analysis to identify and implement new packaging materials and technologies

Create, manage release and control package drawings

Ensure all packaging design meet industry standards and regulations. Work with suppliers to ensure quality and timely delivery of packaging materials

Troubleshoot and resolve any issues related to packaging design and assembly

Support assembly equipment mechanical tooling design

What You'll Bring

Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent experience

3+ years of full-time industry experience in power module design and optimization

An interdisciplinary mindset with an ability to understand first principle and interactions between thermal, mechanical, fluid and electrical physics

Knowledge of tolerance stacks, design for performance manufacturing (DFM), design for test (DFT), design for reliability. Ability to lead and/or contribute to DFMEA and PFMEA

Experience with CAD modeling (SolidWorks, CATIA or similar), finite element analysis (FEA) & multi-physics simulations

Experience with environmental, reliability, safety and industry standards for automotive product

Assembly process knowledge and material science knowledge of materials used in electronics packaging (ceramics, attaches, encapsulation, wire bonding, adhesives, etc.)

Expected Compensation

$109,600 - $195,600/annual salary + cash and stock awards + benefits

Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.
