Job Title: Senior Windows Server Administrator

Location: Bengaluru / Hyderabad

1st shift: 7am to 4pm and 2nd shift: 2pm - 11pm

Role Overview

The Senior Windows Server Administrator (Patch Management) is responsible for overseeing the planning, deployment, and validation of patches across enterprise Windows Server environments and Clinical Imaging Applications. This role ensures system security, compliance, and operational stability while minimizing downtime in mission-critical infrastructures such as healthcare IT, financial services, or enterprise data centers. In this role you will need to check and implement OEM validated Patches and Vulnerabilities in a periodic manner on the Clinical Imaging Application Server/Workstations/ Environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Patch Lifecycle Management
    • Plan, schedule, and deploy Windows Server patches and OEM Application approved Patches (security updates, hotfixes, cumulative updates).
    • Validate patches in test environments before production rollout.
    • Ensure compliance with organizational and regulatory patching policies (HIPAA, ISO, NIST).
  • Monitoring & Reporting
    • Track patch deployment status across servers and clusters.
    • Generate compliance and vulnerability remediation reports.
    • Maintain dashboards for patch success/failure rates.
  • System Administration
    • Manage Windows Server environments (2016/2019/2022).
    • Oversee Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS/DHCP, and file/print services.
    • Support VMware/ESXi and Hyper-V virtualized environments during patch cycles.
  • Security & Compliance
    • Collaborate with InfoSec teams to remediate vulnerabilities.
    • Ensure firewall, endpoint security, and backup systems remain operational during patching.
  • Incident & Escalation Management
    • Troubleshoot patch-related failures and rollback issues.
    • Coordinate with OEM vendors for hardware/firmware updates.
    • Provide Level 2/3 escalation support for patch-related incidents.
  • Leadership
    • Mentor junior/mid-level administrators on patching best practices.
    • Develop SOPs for patch deployment, rollback, and emergency fixes.
    • Lead patch management audits and compliance reviews.

Required Skills

  • Deep expertise in Windows Server administration (2016/2019/2022).
  • Strong knowledge of WSUS, SCCM/MECM, Intune, or equivalent patch management tools.
  • Experience with VMware/ESXi, Hyper-V, and cloud-based patching (Azure/AWS).
  • Experience in Data Center Setup, Disaster Recovery (DR), High Availability.
  • Familiarity with PowerShell scripting for automation.
  • Knowledge of ITIL processes (Incident, Problem, Change Management).
  • Knowledge of Healthcare Informatics Application and Products (PACS, VNA, RIS, EMR).
  • Strong troubleshooting and root cause analysis skills.

Qualifications

  • Education
    • BE in Computer Science Engineering (CSE), Information Technology (IT), or Biomedical Engineering (BME).
    • MSc in Computer Science, Health Informatics, or Biomedical Engineering.

Certifications

  • CCNA, ITIL, VMware, Cloud Foundation, Windows Server Management
