Job Description

Position Summary:

Heading machine operators demonstrate expert troubleshooting, full area cross training abilities as well as demonstrate knowledge of progressive header tooling configurations and functions. Operators will demonstrate product knowledge including design, performance, and critical dimensions. They will also be involved in the development and design of new or improved processes and tools focusing on cost saving.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Work safely under functional safety guidelines such as PPE and equipment interaction.
  • Adhere to quality processes including in-process inspection to ensure compliance with quality specifications.
  • Use measuring instruments: calipers, micrometers, optical comparators, go/no go gages
  • Correctly interpret work orders and read blueprints.
  • Lift up to 35lbs
  • Assist in the development of new hires & machine setups of Nakishimadas, Sakamuras, and Nationals.
  • Operate the following die packages.
    • 1 die, 2 punches
    • 2 die, 4 punches
    • 3 die – 6 die
  • Understand and follow the 3-pan rule.
  • Work alongside engineering for research and development of tooling and processes.
  • Work in a team environment, i.e. follow instructions and assist others as needed.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned or requested.

Required Skills:

  • The ability to read and write English.
  • Print reading & inspection processes.
  • Familiarity of header tooling & equipment (Progressive & Non-Progressive)
  • Knowledge of wire material & coatings & product (Design & Performance)
  • Troubleshooting abilities.
  • Timeliness and dedication to the job.
