Job Title: Systems EngineerJob Description

This technical position supports municipal and industrial water and wastewater projects. The role combines office-based engineering and design with field startup, commissioning, and service work.

Responsibilities

  • Lead submittals and technical documentation with minimal oversight.
  • Design control panels and system architectures, including specification development and process flow diagram generation.
  • Run startups independently and direct field problem solving.
  • Serve as a technical resource for customers and assist in pre-sale discussions.
  • Develop, modify, and troubleshoot PLC and HMI programs.

Essential Skills

  • Degree in electrical, mechanical, or automation engineering/technology.
  • Ability to read electrical schematics and P&IDs.
  • Comfortable in industrial and construction environments.
  • Strong communication skills with operators, contractors, and engineers.
  • Valid driver’s license.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience with water or wastewater treatment systems.
  • Knowledge of instrumentation such as flow, level, pressure, and analytical devices.
  • Familiarity with motor controls and VFDs.
  • Proficiency in industrial networking and telemetry.
  • Skills in PLC programming, electrical engineering, automation, AutoCAD, control panel design, P&ID, SCADA, hydraulics, and flow analysis.

Work Environment

The position requires travel up to 50%, typically local within the vicinity of St. Louis. The role involves working in industrial and construction environments.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of Saint Louis, MO.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $48.00 - $57.00/hr.
