Overview

Repligen is seeking a Process Engineering Intern to support the Waltham Process Engineering team during a summer internship. This role focuses on manufacturing process improvements on OPUS Chromatography products. The intern will work onsite in Waltham under the guidance of the Process Engineering Manager, contributing to experimental design, testing, and potential process implementation within an 8–12 week timeframe.

Responsibilities

  • Research and evaluate methods to achieve faster glue set and cure times.
  • Design and execute experiments, including a Design of Experiments (DOE), to test and compare potential solutions.
  • Analyze experimental results and document findings in a test summary report.
  • Support qualification of an optimal solution and assist with implementing the updated process into manufacturing as a standard operating procedure.
  • Other assigned duties as required.

Qualifications

  • Must be enrolled in an engineering, or similiar degree program at an accredited college or university.
  • Ability to design and execute experiments and perform structured testing in a manufacturing or engineering context.
  • Capability to analyze experimental data and clearly document results and conclusions.
  • Interest in or exposure to manufacturing process improvement and standard operating procedures.
  • Ability to work onsite in Waltham and complete meaningful project deliverables within an 8–12 week internship period.
  • Possible travel to other Repligen sites within Massachusetts.

Additional Qualifications:

  • Ability to use hand tools, and equipment including repetitive forceful gripping, grasping, pushing, and pulling
  • Stand and move during shift, including reaching, bending, stooping, grasping
  • Ability to frequently lift up to 30 pounds and occasionally lift up to 50 pounds
  • Wear PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) and adhere to chemical hygiene
  • Follow all safety protocols

The estimated base salary range for this role, based in the United States of America is $23/Hr. -$26/Hr. Compensation decisions are dependent on several factors including, but not limited to an individual's qualifications, location, internal equity, and alignment with market data. .
