About the role

We are seeking a highly motivated Research Associate to join the Electrochemical and Bioelectronic Interface Group at the Dyson School of Design Engineering at Imperial College London, to support the team in exploring commercialisation pathways for a recently developed multifunctional flexible sensor. The successful candidate will contribute to stakeholder engagement with potential user groups in targeted areas, user-centred sensor design, and analysis of routes towards commercialisation.

What you would be doing

You will support the development and commercial translation of a recently developed multifunctional flexible sensor within the Electrochemical and Bioelectronic Interface Group. Your role will involve working closely with academic researchers and external stakeholders to explore potential application areas and user needs, contributing to user-centred sensor design and refinement. You will engage with potential user groups to gather insights that inform design decisions, and you will assist in analysing and evaluating possible routes to commercialisation. You will also contribute to project planning, documentation, and communication of findings to both technical and non-technical audiences.

What we are looking for

We are looking for candidates with a background or strong interest in flexible sensor technologies, including electrochemical and bioelectronic sensing. You should have experience or enthusiasm for engaging with potential users or stakeholders, and an interest in research translation activities such as intellectual property development or early-stage commercialisation.
