The System Test Engineer // System Validation Engineer – ADAS is responsible for validating Advanced Driver Assistance Systems developed and delivered to OEM customers. The role ensures that ADAS functions meet internal development standards, OEM requirements, functional safety expectations, and regulatory compliance before SOP and release. Within a Tier-1 environment, the engineer acts as a bridge between development teams and OEM customers, ensuring robust validation coverage, traceability, and high product quality under tight project timelines.
Key Responsibilities
- Define and execute system validation strategy aligned with OEM requirements
- Review system and software requirements and derive validation test cases
- Create and maintain validation plans, test specifications, and traceability matrices
- Perform validation at SIL, HIL, ECU bench, and vehicle level
- Validate ADAS functions such as ACC, AEB, LKA, TSR, BSD
- Analyze radar and camera sensor data
- Work with CAN, LIN, FlexRay, and Automotive Ethernet networks
- Perform regression testing and release validation
- Conduct structured defect analysis and support root cause investigation
- Support ISO 26262, ISO 21448 (SOTIF), and Automotive SPICE compliance
- Support customer audits, milestone reviews, and validation reporting
Ideal profile
- High school education in Electrical Systems (or similar) with relevant automotive experience or Bachelor’s degree in Automotive, Electrical, Mechatronics, Computer Engineering (junior candidates welcome)
- Understanding of automotive E/E architecture
- Basic knowledge of CAN, LIN, FlexRay, Ethernet
- Experience with CANoe/CANalyzer, dSPACE/ETAS, INCA, Jira
- Driving license (B)
- Interest or experience in radar and camera-based ADAS systems
- Analytical mindset and structured working style
Nice to Have
- Experience with Codebeamer (requirements & traceability management) – training can be provided
- Knowledge of UNECE ADAS regulations
- Experience in test automation (Python, CAPL, MATLAB)
- Experience in scenario-based or simulation-based validation
- Exposure to customer-facing validation activities
