The Opportunity

We are looking for a Senior Electrical Engineer to join our Electrical Engineering Group in Istanbul/Ankara, contributing to a wide range of prestigious transportation and rail projects in Türkiye and overseas.

As a Senior Electrical Engineer at Arup, you will:

  • Deliver electrical engineering design for major rail, metro, station, depot, and transportation infrastructure projects,
  • Work closely with multidisciplinary teams, including rail systems engineers, mechanical engineers, architects, and project management teams,
  • Manage and oversee the production of electrical drawings and design documentation,
  • Prepare, review, and coordinate electrical reports, calculations, and technical specifications specific to transportation and rail environments,
  • Lead and supervise electrical design teams, ensuring coordination with other engineering disciplines and project managers,
  • Attend client, stakeholder, and technical coordination meetings, clearly communicating requirements and project needs,
  • Ensure compliance with international railway standards, safety requirements, and relevant regulations.

We're looking for someone who is passionate about contributing to a wide range of prestigious transportation and rail projects in Türkiye and overseas. We also value:

  • Degree in Electrical Engineering,
  • Minimum 15 years of professional experience, at least 10 years within rail, metro, station design, or large‑scale transportation infrastructure projects,
  • Extensive experience in electrical design across medium to large‑scale infrastructure or complex building projects,
  • Proven ability to design and deliver electrical engineering solutions for major or complex transportation/rail projects,
  • Proficiency in Revit / 3d modelling,
  • Demonstrated experience leading electrical teams on multidisciplinary engineering projects,
  • Strong understanding of engineering priorities, constraints, and interfaces in transportation and rail systems,
  • Ability to build strong client relationships and represent the electrical discipline in external meetings,
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet strict project deadlines,
  • Excellent planning, organization, and problem‑solving skills,
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills,
  • Fluency in English is essential.
