Position Summary
The Accounting Manager will oversee the accounting department processes, ensuring accurate, timely financial reporting and full compliance with applicable standards and regulations. This role will direct the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes, working closely with internal stakeholders and serving as a key partner to internal and external auditors. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong leadership and accountability, deep technical accounting expertise, and a proven ability to drive process improvements, strengthen controls, and influence outcomes across the organization.
Position Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives by identifying risks, inefficiencies, and opportunities for innovation.
- Set clear priorities, provide direction, and ensure alignment with departmental and organizational goals.
- Lead the organization’s JSOX compliance program, ensuring effective internal controls and timely testing.
- Mentor, coach, and support team members to foster professional growth and high performance.
- Manage month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing processes for both the corporate office and plant locations.
- Prepare and review financial statements, including profit & loss, balance sheet, and cash flow records
- Analyze financial data to provide insights on performance and cost-saving opportunities
- Develop and manage annual budgets and financial forecasts
- Monitor budget variances and report on financial performance
- Establish and maintain accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting.
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulations
- Coordinate and support internal and external financial reviews and audits. Act as one of the key contacts for external auditors.
- Provide financial insights to support management decision-making
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance department efficiency and accuracy.
- Lead and participate in various accounting projects
Position Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting
- CPA preferred
- 5+ years of experience in accounting
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and/or IFRS and financial reporting standards
- Demonstrated leadership capabilities, including the ability to influence others and drive results without direct authority.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage stakeholders at all levels.
- Proficiency in accounting software and advanced Excel skills
- Knowledge of cost accounting principles for manufacturing environments
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Experience with ERP systems, preferably JDE
- Strong leadership and communication skills
- Pay range $125,000 - $130,000. Plus, annual bonus.
