Tesla is looking for a highly-motivated engineer to contribute to implementing Manufacturing Engineering and lean principles to the manufacturing process of our cutting-edge EV Products at Gigafactory Texas in Austin, Texas. Through a detailed understanding of the factory objectives and extensive collaboration with internal and external teams, you will help improve processes to increase overall efficiency. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to Tesla’s world class manufacturing facility in Texas. Tesla is a demanding and fast-paced environment where you will work on a critical subsystem of an incredibly exciting product.

What You'll Do

Work with manufacturing engineering and production teams to identify production constraints

Collaborate with production engineering teams to determine overall equipment effectiveness and associated improvement strategies

Perform value-stream analysis through the use of simulations

Work with the external teams designing production lines for the factory to ensure that their layouts align with the overall plan and vision for the factory

Support decision making on process layout through the use of data

What You'll Bring

Experience performing detailed analysis necessary to make data driven decisions on process layout design, production line design or warehouse design

Familiar with Discrete Event Simulation software like Flexsim and AnyLogic

Able to gain buy-in from a diverse group of stakeholders

Able to work under pressure while managing competing demands and tight deadlines

Exemplary verbal and written communication skills

Experience with MOS/MES systems is a plus

Mastery of Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio

Degree in Mechanical Engineer, Manufacturing Engineering or equivalent experience

2+ years of experience working in a manufacturing environment
