Accounting Clerk

AHF Products has a job opportunity for an Accounting Clerk at our solid hardwood flooring plant located in West Plains, MO. This position reports directly to the Controller and will support several finance/accounting aspects of the plant, partnering with the Controller in successfully servicing the manufacturing operations and meeting financial objectives. JOB DUTIES:
- Perform duties and responsibilities in a safe manner while leading by example.
- Processing lumber payments.
- Check all pricing on lumber tallies, entering of tallies into M3, balancing daily with M3 and Excel spreadsheets.
- Work with yard operations and Lumber Buyer to ensure prices are correct, purchase orders are up to date, and payments are made in a timely manner.
- Interact with lumber vendors to answer questions.
- Account for all lumber receivers throughout the month and booking out at month-end to ensure all receivers are accounted for.
- Ensure employees’ time and hours are coded to the appropriate department and pay codes.
- Responsible for the records retention for the accounting department and assists in month end close.
- Additional responsibilities include assisting in production reporting and helping maintain a perpetual inventory system along with day-to-day accounting duties.
- Preparation of weekly/monthly labor reports.
- Flexibility to work some overtime, weekends and holidays in order to process payroll cycles.
- Work with Plant Controller on projects as required (inventory, etc.).
- Must be willing to assist others in times of peak workloads.
- Always follow all safety guidelines in order to eliminate accidental injury.
- Maintain property, plant, and equipment to support and improve the safe production and performance of operations.
- Participate in Continuous Improvement, also provide suggestions to improve processes and participate in team projects.
- Be a role model for safety. Promote a zero-injury safety culture and find ways to continuously improve safety culture in the workplace.
- Stop any observed work activities or conditions that are dangerous, illegal, or against company policy.
- Identify safety issues in the workplace and assume responsibility to take immediate action to correct or immediately escalate to appropriate level for resolution.
- Perform any other tasks as assigned.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
- Must be able to successfully complete and pass a background check, employment verification and drug screening.
- Positive and Verifiable Work History.
- Three to five years of accounting/finance experience in a manufacturing environment
- Effective organization and communication skills (both written and verbal) are required. Proficient in spelling and grammar in preparation of written communications is required.
- Must be detail-oriented, able to multi-task, manage priorities and be adaptable to changes in schedule and workload.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills
- Strong interpersonal skills including the ability to interact comfortably and respectfully with all levels of plant and corporate personnel.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Proficiency with ERP systems.
- Proficiency in Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
