We are hiring a Security Guard to join our team at South Shore Rehabilitation & Skilled Care Center in Rockland!

Shift is weekends 9a-9p and Monday and Friday 6p-8p. Weekly pay at $18 an hour.

You assure the safety and security of the residents, employees, facility, facility grounds, and equipment, as well as take residents to and from smoking breaks.

Education & Experience:

• High school diploma or its equivalent.
• Security experience and/or a general background in repairs and maintenance.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Assist residents with smoking, lighting materials, and helping with transportation to and from the designated smoking areas.
• Maintain a clean and safe smoking area.
• Ensure a safe environment for residents, staff, visitors, and all personnel on the property.

Specific Requirements:

• Must be able to read, write, and comprehend the English language.
• Must possess the ability to make independent decisions, to follow instructions, and to accept constructive criticism.
• Must possess the ability to deal tactfully with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, government agencies/personnel and the general public.
• Must have general knowledge of repair and maintenance practices and procedures, as well as laws, regulations, and guidelines as they pertain to long-term care.
• Must be willing to work harmoniously with professional and non-professional personnel.
• Must have patience, a cheerful disposition and enthusiasm, as well as the willingness to handle difficult situations using effective problem-solving techniques.
