Under the general direction of the Accounting Administrator I (AAI) Supervisor of the Accounts Payable - Administrative team, the Senior Accounting Officer-Supervisor independently performs professional accounting duties that require an understanding of the entire accounting state travel process. Acting in a supervisory capacity, the incumbent is responsible for processing difficult expenditure transactions within the FI$Cal (Financial Information System for California) automated accounting system. Works closely with AAI to direct workload assignments and assist in workload analysis, including working closely with Department of Rehabilitation (DOR) Programs; Contracts & Procurement, Budget Office, State Control Agencies (such as but not limited to CalHR, DGS, SCO), and Financial Service & Reporting Staff to accurately reflect the financial condition within the multi-funded complex financial structure of DOR.

The majority of the work will take place in one of the following locations with consumers, the public, colleagues, and other stakeholders: a DOR open office setting in a cubicle environment, offsite in the community, at events and various partner locations, and/or at an approved alternate work location. The incumbent must have the ability to work in an office setting for up to 40 hours per week and remain at a workstation for extended periods while utilizing a personal computer, peripherals, and other office equipment with or without accommodation. The incumbent will be working in an office setting with both natural and artificial lighting. Strong interpersonal skills are required to interact effectively with consumers, the public, colleagues, and other stakeholders.
