REQ13936 Operation Senior Technician (Open Date: 23/01/2026)
Reporting to the Assistant Head, the Operation Senior Technician is responsible for working as part of the Hydraulics and Filtration team to install, maintain and operate show elements and systems in a safe and consistent manner for House of Dancing Water and all company events/ shows.
The Operation Senior Technician performs the maintenance of:
- Hydraulic stage lifts, associated controls, and safety systems. Including hydraulics, mechanical, and electrical elements.
- Pool Filtration Systems - Oversee and ensure pool water quality.
The Operation Senior Technician will assist and liaise with the rest of the H&F department to achieve common goals and always maintain the strategy of a safe working environment. Additionally, the employee will participate in the development of operational and maintenance procedures as needed, as well as collaborate with other departments and any required contractors.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Responsible to ensure above mentioned equipment runs safely and reliably, and scheduled maintenance is carried out as per departments SOP’s.
- Fault Find and Diagnose problems with the above-mentioned equipment.
- Have ability to lead an entire maintenance team through the methodology of troubleshooting electrical and mechanical problems to enable a smooth and continued show.
- Follow all System Operating Procedures (SOP) and preventative maintenance program.
- Ensure that all technical operation and procedures developed are safe.
- Ensure that the work order-based maintenance database is up-to-date and all maintenance plans are followed accordingly and to schedule.
- Develop a thorough knowledge of Hydraulics and Filtration equipment specific to the production in order to operate it safely.
- Participate in the ordering and procuring of department supplies.
- Assist to properly accrue tools (hardware and software) to perform their work safely.
- Assist to ensure that the department has a good inventory of spare parts.
- Foster positive relationships with everyone at HODW, Melco, their vendors, contractors, and suppliers.
- Assist with developing a high level of professional standards and promote it within the team.
- Assist with and manage different service and consultant contracts.
- Maintain good relationship with contractors to get the best service possible.
- Perform hands on repairs on the equipment under the department scope.
- Carry out underwater inspection of equipment under the department scope.
- Carry out underwater repair work and routine maintenance of equipment under the department scope.
- Maintain a flexible schedule for work calls, special events, rehearsals, training, maintenance, and evening show performances.
- Adhere to all company policies and procedures.
- Report accidents, injuries and unsafe work conditions to superiors and relevant departments.
- Perform other reasonable job duties as assigned by Assistant Head from time to time.
KEY PERFORMANCE INDICATORS:
- Assist to achieve a successful and reliable operation of the theatre equipment.
- Assist to achieve a successful program of SOP and Preventative maintenance schedule.
- Continuous safe and smooth run of rehearsals, trainings, shows.
- Up to date maintenance records.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Experience
- Min 3 years of pertinent experience in the fields related to the position.
Education
- Electrical, Mechanical, or related degree
- Scuba certified or willing to be trained and being fit for diving
Skills / Competencies
- Excellent communication skills either verbal and written English and/or Cantonese
- Ability to analyse and develop system engineer drawings.
