Job Description
As an ISO/IEC 17025 KOLAS Mass and Related Quantities Calibration / Field Service Engineer, you will be responsible for delivering service excellence to meet customer expectations through internationally accredited calibration and on-site service activities.
This position combines KOLAS-accredited mass and related quantities calibration with field service support and equipment qualification activities, ensuring compliance with international standards, accurate measurement, and high-quality technical support to customers.
Responsibilities
- Operate and maintain Mass and Related Quantities calibration equipment in compliance with ISO/IEC 17025 and KOLAS requirements
- Perform Mass and Related Quantities calibration procedures and prepare calibration reports
- Conduct regular inspection, verification, and calibration of standards and equipment
- Perform equipment qualification activities including Installation Qualification (IQ), Operational Qualification (OQ), and Performance Qualification (PQ)
- Prepare and manage qualification protocols, reports, and related documentation
- Enforce quality management systems (QMS) and prepare related documentation
- Perform calibration and measurement work at an internationally accredited calibration institute
- Deliver on-site services including installation, calibration, preventative maintenance (PM), basic repairs, and technical support
- Service laboratory instruments such as Biological Safety Cabinets, CO₂ Incubators, Cold Storage, and Centrifuges
- Provide technical consultation and resolve customer issues to minimize equipment downtime
- Prepare service reports, validation documents, and protocols according to internal and customer requirements
- Build strong customer relationships and deliver excellent customer experience
- Collaborate with commercial and internal teams to support customer solutions
- Comply with all relevant safety standards and regulatory requirements, including proper handling of hazardous materials where applicable
- Continuously develop technical skills and product knowledge through training and self-study
- Support continuous improvement initiatives through Practical Process Improvement activities
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field
- Minimum 5 years of experience in KOLAS calibration (Mass, Temperature, or related quantities)
- Minimum 5 years of experience as a Field Service Engineer
- Practical understanding and hands-on experience with ISO/IEC 17025 standards
- Experience in equipment qualification activities (IQ/OQ/PQ) is strongly preferred
- Preference for candidates who have completed KOLAS-related training (e.g., KS Q ISO/IEC 17025 operational practice, measurement uncertainty)
- Strong electrical or mechanical background with excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Advanced PC literacy including MS Office (especially Excel) and strong technical documentation skills
- Customer-oriented mindset with a professional demeanor
- Excellent communication skills in Korean (required); English communication skills preferred
- Ability to work effectively with customers and colleagues in challenging and stressful situations
- Job-related technical certifications and language qualifications are preferred
