Reporting to Training Coordinator – L&D Administration, the Training Specialist - Internal and External Training will be responsible for planning, coordinating, delivering, and evaluating internal and external training programs across the organization. The role will ensure that employees, contractors, and partners receive high-quality learning interventions that support compliance, capability development, and organizational performance. The Training Specialist works closely with departments, subject matter experts, and external training providers to ensure that training needs are met in a timely and effective manner.

Your duties will include but are not limited to the following:

  • Maintain an accurate inventory of all L&D assets, including simulators, tablets, laptops, tools, and machinery.
  • Conduct training needs assessments in collaboration with department managers and SMEs.
  • Develop annual and quarterly training calendars (internal and external).
  • Coordinate scheduling, logistics, venues, materials, and communication for all training activities.
  • Liaise with external training vendors to secure quotations, arrange sessions, and manage contracts.
  • Maintain accurate training records in learning management systems (e.g., DAMSTRA).
  • Deliver in-house training sessions such as soft skills, and operational skills.
  • Prepare training materials, presentations, handouts, and assessments.
  • Adapt facilitation style to various audiences (employees, contractors, internship groups, supervisors, etc.).
  • Coach and support internal SMEs to improve their facilitation capacity.
  • Identify suitable external courses based on competencies and compliance needs.
  • Review and evaluate external provider proposals and ensure alignment with training standards.
  • Coordinate enrolment, attendance, completion, and certification tracking for outsourced training.
  • Monitor cost-effectiveness and prepare reports on external training ROI.
  • Evaluate training effectiveness using feedback tools, assessments, and performance indicators.
  • Compile monthly training reports, dashboards, and compliance summaries.
  • Analyse gaps in training attendance, certification validity, and mobilization requirements.
  • Recommend continuous improvement actions based on evaluation results.
  • Ensure all training (internal and external) meets regulatory, safety, and organisational requirements.
  • Update and maintain training documents, SOPs, facilitator guides, and competency matrices.
  • Support contractor mobilization training requirements, including inductions and refresher sessions.
  • Contribute to audits by providing training evidence, records, and compliance reports

To be considered for the position, you must meet the following requirements:

  • Full Grade 12 School Certificate
  • Bachelor’s degree in social sciences, Training & Development, or related field
  • Diploma in Teaching Methodology
  • Certification in Training/L&D is an added advantage
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in training facilitation or L&D
  • Experience working with LMS platforms (e.g., DAMSTRA) and compliance-based training
  • Experience facilitating both internal and external training programs
