As an Engineer, Product Design, you will be responsible for providing comprehensive engineering support for the PSBU High Power projects. You will play a critical role in driving product development, modifications, and technical maintenance, ensuring alignment with customer needs and organizational goals.
Our Team
You will work within the PSBU division of CCS, collaborating closely with cross-functional teams including Engineering, Manufacturing, AQP, Tooling, and Reliability. Our team is focused on delivering innovative solutions for high-power systems by integrating customer feedback and leveraging technical expertise.
What You Will Do
- Provide engineering support for New Product Developments (NPDs), Modifications (MODs), Standard Product Options, and legacy product maintenance/technical support projects.
- Plan and execute assigned projects to meet all targets and deadlines.
- Collaborate with customers, product management, and sales teams to develop VOC-aligned solutions, adhering strictly to the Product Development Process.
- Coordinate with Cross-Functional Teams (CFT) to manage and execute multiple projects simultaneously.
- Lead engineering efforts to satisfy both customer and manufacturing requirements.
- Develop and manage product models, detailed drawings, product specifications, Design Verification Plans and Reports (DVP&R), tolerance stack-ups, test summaries, and application specifications.
- Assess and define product and application specifications to ensure quality and functionality.
- Self-plan work activities based on organizational priorities while maintaining close coordination with your supervisor.
- Strive to achieve organizational, departmental, and personal objectives.
- Demonstrate alignment with the Principle Based Management (PBM) framework by applying its principles in daily tasks.
- Manage engineering change processes, including Engineering Change Requests (ECRs) and Engineering Change Notices (ECNs).
Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
- Minimum of 4 years of relevant engineering experience.
- Strong knowledge of product design and development processes.
- Proficient in project planning and execution with the ability to manage multiple tasks.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
What Will Put You Ahead (Preferred Qualifications)
- Proficient in NX CAD software for 3D modeling and design.
- Broad and deep technical knowledge in product design, including molded, stamped, machined, and plated parts.
- Practical experience with high-power and high-voltage systems; familiarity with electrical connectors, cable assemblies, and related electronic components is a plus.
- Experience using SAP for Material Masters and Bill of Materials (BOM) management.
- Skilled in Finite Element Analysis (FEA), including thermal simulations.
- Strong analytical abilities with a history of solving complex engineering challenges.
- Understanding of Agile development methodologies, particularly Scrum framework.
- Effective communicator with a collaborative mindset supporting teamwork across functions.
